Details
In this two-day workshop series, participants will learn the fundamentals of loom beading while creating a custom bead-weaving of their own.
On day one, they will map out their pattern and design, and learn how to dress the loom. On day two, they will begin weaving their pieces to life using colorful beads.
The possibilities are endless, whether creating a favorite animal, a meaningful word or phrase, graphic motifs, or bold abstract patterns; participants will choose from a range of bead colors and threads to make something unique. They will leave with a finished piece, which can hang on the wall, and the skills to keep beading long after the workshop ends. This workshop series is inspired by Diedrick Brackens’ solo exhibition, gather tender night, presented by YBCA.
