Exhibition |Kiel meets the Bay Area: NO PUNK. NO FUTURE. opens September 10 with a conversation between NO MORE and punk historian Jack Boulware.
Fifty years after punk declared itself against everything and everyone, the Goethe-Institut San Francisco opens NO PUNK. NO FUTURE. — an exhibition connecting the punk history of Kiel, Germany, with the Bay Area. Two scenes shaped by self-expression, nonconformity, DIY culture, and a refusal to fall in line.
The opening features a conversation between Andy A. Schwarz and Tina Sanudakura of the seminal Kiel post-punk band NO MORE and San Francisco writer and punk historian Jack Boulware, author of Gimme Something Better: The Profound, Progressive, and Occasionally Pointless History of Bay Area Punk from Dead Kennedys to Green Day.
