What is Downtown First Thursday?

Downtown First Thursday is San Francisco's biggest and best block party! Every first Thursday, from 5-10pm, we take over Second Street between Market and Howard Streets with street performers, karaoke, food and crafts vendors, art activities, and a special headliner guest. RSVP for free.

The party starts at our Neighborhood Hang

Yerba Buena Partnership and the East Cut co-host a Neighborhood Hang at Minna Street during DFT's Howard Street Happy Hour, 5-7pm. Come by for a rotation of free activities, from face painting and giant coloring pages to glitter tattoos and a collage station.

Free museum admission to YBCA and MoAD

DFT takes place in one of SF's artsiest neighborhoods! Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the Museum of the African Diaspora both offer free admission on first Thursday evenings. Check our events calendar for special programming at each museum.
