Explore the Excelsior Street Furniture Pilot, a unique project bringing student-designed furniture to the sidewalks of the Excelsior neighborhood in San Francisco. High school students from Youth Art Exchange's Advanced Architecture Firm designed and built modular, adaptable street furniture installations featuring seating and planters with local plants. These prototypes beautify the sidewalks, provide places to rest, and help build community in the Excelsior. You can discover these innovative pieces at three locations along the Mission Street Corridor. The project offers students valuable real-world design and construction experience while enhancing the neighborhood streetscape.
