Woven Kultura, by artist Dee Jae Pa'este along 4th Street at Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco, weaves together symbols of SoMa's history and Filipino immigrant heritage into one striking public artwork. The piece features symbols of native indigenous land, historic textile factories, and the neighborhood's underground music scene.
This mural is part of a series of expansive murals along 4th Street by four Bay Area artists that transformed blank concrete walls along Yerba Buena Gardens into a tapestry of Yerba Buena’s and SoMa’s ethos in 2023-2024. The series includes Woven Kultura by Dee Jae Pa’este, Sanctorum by Mel Vera Cruz, Dito Kami by ChiChai, and Day Dreamin’ by Dre Sibayande.
