Oracle, a series of sandblasted, fused, and cast glass panels by artist Narcissus Quagliata, was commissioned in 1993 by the San Francisco Arts Commission for the Downtown Parking Association and Department of Parking. The installation comprises 40 panels, 8 per floor. Quagliata, born in Rome in 1942 and trained under Giorgio De Chirico before studying painting and graphics at the San Francisco Art Institute, is renowned for pioneering large-scale architectural glass art, bringing his distinctive sculptural glasswork to this civic commission in downtown San Francisco.
