Experts at finding the absurdity in contemporary culture, the SFMT has been on the progressive frontlines since the heyday of the civil rights movement in the early 1960s. Pointed and topical, SFMT productions are also cosmopolitan and universal, drawing on classic theatrical tropes to illuminate the foibles, missteps, ill-motives and heroic resistance to the interesting times besetting us.
