Wednesday, November 12th | featuring Brian Jones of Winemonger

Flatiron Wines & Spirits is delighted to welcome Brian Jones from Winemonger (winemonger.com, @winemonger), for an evening showcasing fresh releases from the Loire Valley. As a US importer and merchant specializing in old-world wines, Winemonger has built a thoughtful portfolio of Loire producers who work organically and biodynamically, crafting wines that speak honestly of their terroir.

The Loire Valley remains one of France's most diverse and dynamic wine regions, spanning over 600 miles and producing everything from crisp Sauvignon Blanc to structured Cabernet Franc. This tasting focuses on new releases that capture the region's range—from the chenin-driven appellations of Anjou to the limestone-influenced wines of Pouilly-Fumé and Menetou-Salon. These are wines that showcase what makes the Loire so compelling: a balance of freshness, minerality, and genuine expression of place.

Brian has curated a lineup that highlights both emerging talent and established quality. Quentin Caulleau's Patience wines from Anjou demonstrate the potential of organic farming in this classic Loire sub-region, while Remoortere's Pinot Noir from Menetou-Salon offers a fascinating look at this Sauvignon Blanc-dominated appellation's red wine capabilities. Rounding out the tasting is Domaine de la Croisée's Pouilly-Fumé Eden, a wine that exemplifies the purity and precision that make this appellation a benchmark for Sauvignon Blanc.

This is an opportunity to discover the latest vintage expressions from producers who are defining what modern Loire winemaking looks like—wines that honor tradition while embracing thoughtful, sustainable practices.
