Grants for a Thriving Neighborhood

Yerba Buena Partnership is a community benefit district and nonprofit organization that works to make the Yerba Buena neighborhood clean, safe, and welcoming for residents, employees, and visitors. In addition, the organization advocates for and funds projects that improve our neighborhood public spaces, and promotes Yerba Buena businesses and organizations.

As part of our commitment to improving the Yerba Buena neighborhood, a total amount of $400,000 will be awarded this year to projects that benefit the neighborhood and support the Yerba Buena Partnership’s goals.

Neighborhood Activation Grants

With support from the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, the Partnership is able to provide Activation Grants of $1,000-5,000 to small businesses, community organizations, non profits, and event organizers who are bringing activities that inspire economic vitality to Yerba Buena. Community Benefit Fund

Our annual Community Benefit Grants help spur interest, economic activity and community well-being among Yerba Buena’s cultural, arts and small businesses. The grants are possible with generous support by district residents, businesses and donations. Together, we help Yerba Buena thrive.

Grant Types

The Community Benefit Fund offers two types of grants to projects and events that seek to improve the quality of life in the Yerba Buena neighborhood – mini-grants from $1,000 - $5,000 and full grants up to $25,000. Please review and download the grant guidelines and application below.

Grants are awarded to nonprofits that support public art, projects and events that reinvigorate the neighborhood and create safe and welcoming opportunities for residents, workers, and visitors. See previous recipients hereFunded activities must take place between July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027 in the Yerba Buena neighborhood.

Application Process

An Applicant Meeting will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, February 24 from 3:00pm-4:00pm. This is essential for new applicants who would like to learn more about the application and review process. Past recipients are also encouraged to attend as our guidelines have been refined. Please RSVP to info@yerbabuena.org to receive meeting information. Applications for this cycle must be submitted by 5:00pm on April 22, 2026. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions by June 26, 2026.

Grant Reporting Requirements for Community Benefit Fund

Awardees are required to submit a summary report in the following format at the conclusion of the project. Complete and timely submission of reports is essential for future funding consideration.  

Be sure to clearly articulate the benefits to Yerba Buena residents, employees, and visitors within the report. 

  1. What goals were set for this project. Please share any significant changes made from the plan proposed in the grant application.
  2. To what extent did the project achieve its goals. Include specific project outputs and outcomes.
  3. Estimated data on the number of attendees or individuals served. As available, please share any data on audience demographics.
  4. In what ways did the project help to advance the quality of life for residents and visitors in the Yerba Buena Neighborhood (ie. foster a safe and secure community, enhance beauty, increase economic vitality, promote community connections.)
  5. Attach collateral (screen shots okay) of promotional materials that include the Yerba Buena Partnership logo. Also include any media coverage.
  6. Final budget with detail on how grant money was spent. Also include the source and amount of other funds used for the project, as applicable.
